I’m always on the lookout for new ideas and new ways to make money online. Especially fast money and repeated earnings. I bet you are too. The gurus say there is no shortcut, but of course they don’t want to tell you their secrets.

Just stop to think for a moment. Where do they make all their money?

Well, the answer is from the never ending stream of newbies and people looking for more information on quick and easy ways of making money. It’s a circle. It has no end. It goes round and round and will never stop. It stands to reason then, that they keep misinforming the masses, to keep a ready market hungry for news. Then, as if that isn’t bad enough, methods and technology keeps changing, giving these “teachers” even more to sell to the uninitiated.

So, in other words, if you want help, the last person you should listen to, is the “guru teacher” marketer who seems to have it all. He got it all, from milking other people just like he did with you!

Some of you are online to explore, learn and to find information. I am too, on occasion, but my ultimate goal is to build a long term business online. The one thing that gets me to open my wallet, is the proposition of tools that will help me with this objective. Especially if they save time and effort.

After spending several years in business online, I have come to realize that the best business model, or plan is to create your own product, or service. I’m not saying that the others don’t work, because they probably do work, but for long term success and to build equity in your business, you have to create your own product, or service.

Some of you are saying to yourself, “I don’t want to create my own product, it takes too much work.” That is what I said for years. My primary focus for a long time was trying to become a “super affiliate,” because it seemed the easier route.

I have prospered using this model and many others have too. There is nothing wrong with it, but you will always be making someone else wealthy, while doing all the work. I use it to supplement my income and it still adds about 35% additional income to my bottom line

However, if you want the ability to make massive amounts of money and at the same time build equity in your business, then you need to develop your own products, or services.

The benefits are amazing. I can’t stress this point enough.

Once you set-up your product, or service and market it by adding an affiliate program, your cost will shift and you can’t help but to make money. Imagine having an army of affiliates making sales for you!

Have you any idea how many hungry affiliate marketers search Clickbank each day, for new products to sell? Millions! Some wait for a product to reach the top rankings and earn a good reputation, while many others want to be first to promote something new.

Marlon Sanders once said that unless he took down his websites, he simply could not turn off his money fountain, because over time, his affiliate base had grown so large and they did all the work, by driving traffic to his sales pages and all this happened on autopilot. The result is sales without cost and the truth of the matter is that he has no control over this. It happens just because it happens. Well, it helps if you pay your affiliates well and your products are of quality.

Does that make sense? Of course it does and that is what we all want for ourselves.

The power is awesome and can really expand your bank account, if you know what I mean.

Let me give you an example.

I know a friend who spent many years in a leadership position, while working in the call center environment. As he had direct and indirect access to many buyers, at no cost to himself, it therefore it made sense for him to develop a few products of his own, teaching the knowledge he had gained. So, he created a few e-books and a few simple software scripts. Nothing too complicated, but something in demand.

That was over three years ago and he’s still making a killing off of these products. In fact, he’s making more today than he was when he first released them, because his affiliates are continuously sending traffic to his sales pages. Sure, he has to share the income made with affiliates, but he also doesn’t have to spend any money on advertising costs.

While doing this, he built up his e-mail list to a substantial number and he uses this list to cross-sell his other products and present the subscribers with various products, as an affiliate, that are niche related. This has increased both his daily and weekly income.

Having your own products helps to establish your credibility and helps you to sell other related products. This is another dimension to selling online, that is one step above being a super affiliate.

Many proponents of the “super affiliate” model will argue that creating a product, or service, is too time consuming. Yes, it is time consuming, but the overall impact it has on generating revenue, is far greater.

It adds more opportunity for me and my business model based on product development than simply offering recommended products.

If you think you have absolutely no idea how to create a product, you are wrong! It is much easier than you think. You are probably sitting on a goldmine and don’t even realize it!

Here are a few ideas:

1) Buy a decent product with full Private Label Rights and edit it to include your name and details.

2) Combine all those articles you have written into a package.

3) String a few articles on a specific topic together, to form a report or short e-book.

4) Read a book aloud and record it onto a disk and sell it as an audio book.

5) Make a video showing how to do something. This does not have to be internet marketing related. It could be as simple as how to bake a cake, or how to change a tap washer.

6) Your new products do not have to be in digital format for instant download. They could be physical products. Not only can you offer the option of your audio book and report on physical hard disk, but you can sell other physical products too.

Let’s assume you do etching on pieces of wood (or know someone who does). Your affiliates advertise and market for you and send traffic to your website. You process the orders and post off the items and then pay the affiliates their share.

Apart from being an established digital product affiliate marketer and an accomplished article and report author, I have also developed a business selling electronic cigarettes. This fits in to a definite niche with huge demand. I market and sell these products online and offline. I advertise online and in print media.  I have affiliates and I have area agents. Now isn’t that covering all bases? I earn revenue from a variety of sources.

With my business, Electronic Cigarette Suppliers, I do not rely on sales from only one source. My agents are “repping” and selling every day, but I earn by supplying them at wholesale prices. Thus, although they make big profits, I still take a cut. My affiliates are continuously marketing and sending traffic to my online store and although I pay them a commission on each sale, I still make profit. Then, I also operate as an agent, selling to people and I market online, using adverts, articles and reports as my medium. On top of that I use flyers, pamphlets, posters and print advertising too. See how easy it is, but how thoroughly we cover the market?

One other point I must make, is that you need to be a little different…a little better than the competition. There must be a reason why people will buy your product, over another similar opposition product. You need not have a better price, but need to convince the buyer that he is getting better value for money with your product. This can be in the way of better service, a personal touch, solid research and advice on your part, or adding something of conceived value to the package.

In my case, I offer a personal choice of strength and flavour and I add bonuses to the package. All electronic cigarette starter packs contain a box of cartridges or cartomisers, straight from the factory. These are what we call the “default”. They are all the same. The customer has no choice. We repack the starter kit with the customer’s personal choice and we add refill liquid and a refill syringe. We write informative, well researched articles on the topic. We follow up with each customer, by phone or e-mail to check how things are going. Although these few things do not require too much effort, they impress the buyer and cause us to stand out from the rest. This is unheard of in the industry.
